Aid for Trade is recognized as having an important role in supporting the promotion of sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth and is cited as a specific area for action in both Agendas.

The Fifth Global Review discussed how Aid for Trade can promote inclusive, sustainable growth, particularly with regard to reducing high trade costs that hamper many developing countries', and in particular least developed countries', integration into the global economy.

The Workshop will discuss what the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Agenda for Action mean for the future direction of the Aid-for-Trade Initiative.

The Workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Addis Ababa Agenda for Action (AAAA) and the Aid-for-Trade Initiative is the final dedicated thematic event foreseen in the 2014-2015 Aid-for-Trade Work Programme (WT/COMTD/AFT/W/51). The Workshop will provide an overview of the AAAA and the SDGs and discuss the implications of these global compacts for the Aid-for-Trade Initiative.
