The WTO is organizing the third edition of the Trade and Environment Week 2022 from 17 to 21 October 2022. This event presents a forum for government officials, business representatives, international organizations, academics, and civil society to discuss ways to make global trade more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.
Fighting climate change, transitioning to green economy, and supporting sustainable development, while ensuring economic development and social inclusion is key for trade, for the environment, and for finding sustainable solutions. Multilateral trade and environment cooperation, which will be the focus of the opening event, are pivotal drivers for this transition.
The Trade and Environment Week 2022 offers a unique platform to discuss, maximize synergies, hear from leading experts, gather successfully implemented good practices, find solutions to enhance sustainability in global trade, showcasing ideas and exchanging concrete ideas. It also provides an opportunity to integrate discussions across various policy areas and connect with international partners to enhance collaboration in order to effectively respond to present day challenges.
