PROTOCOL FOR THE ACCESSION OF VENEZUELA

TO THE GENERAL AGREEMENT ON TARIFFS AND TRADE

DONE AT GENEVA ON 26 JULY 1990

ENTRY INTO FORCE OF THE PROTOCOL

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCES

I have the honour to inform you that on 29 August 1990 I received the following statement from the Government of Venezuela:

"The Government of Venezuela hereby notifies that the constitutional requirements relevant to the entry into force of the Protocol for the Accession of Venezuela to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade have been completed. Accordingly, that Protocol can enter into force upon the expiry of the period stipulated in paragraph 6 thereof, which began to run on 1 August 1990."

In terms of paragraph 6 of the Protocol and as notified in GLI/293 on 7 August 1990, the Protocol shall enter into force for Venezuela on 31 August 1990 and Venezuela shall become a contracting party on that date.

I also have the honour to inform you that the following Governments have accepted the Protocol on the dates indicated:

Jamaica 9 August 1990

Egypt 10 August 1990

This notification is furnished in accordance with paragraph 5 of the Protocol.
