La OMC participará activamente en la Quinta Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre los PMA (LDC5), en Doha, para estudiar la forma en que los países menos adelantados (PMA) pueden aprovechar las nuevas oportunidades que se presentan y desarrollar plenamente su potencial comercial. El comercio es un pilar fundamental del Programa de Acción de Doha para los PMA para el Decenio 2022-2031. A lo largo de muchos años, los Miembros de la OMC han apoyado la integración de los PMA en el comercio mundial mediante oportunidades de acceso a los mercados, flexibilidades en la aplicación de los Acuerdos de la OMC y asistencia técnica. La LDC5 brinda la oportunidad de examinar la evolución del comercio mundial y los problemas particulares a los que se enfrentan los PMA.
