The WTO Secretariat organized a Workshop on Environmental Goods and Services for developing country Members in the margins of the last meeting of the CTE in Special Session (CTESS). This event took place on Thursday, 18 February 2010 from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm. in the Centre William Rappard.

The main objective of the workshop was to provide up to date information to capital based officials from developing country Members on the negotiating mandate in Paragraph 31(iii) of the Doha Declaration. The event included presentations by the WTO Secretariat on the state of play of negotiations in the CTESS and Council for Trade in Services in Special Session in the area of environmental goods and environmental services respectively. It also provided a platform for national experience sharing on defining a national position in response to the Paragraph 31(iii) mandate.
