At the request of the parties in the dispute “EC —
Bananas” dispute (complaint by the United States,
DS27) the compliance panel
has agreed to open its meeting with the parties and third parties on
Tuesday, 6 (am) and Wednesday, 7 November 2007, for observation by WTO
Members and the general public at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva. The public
sessions are expected to start at 10 a.m. and finish at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, 6
November and to re-commence at 11 a.m and conclude during the afternoon of
Wednesday 7 November.
The very limited number of places in the gallery above the meeting room
reserved for the public will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis
upon registration with either of the parties to the dispute i.e. the United
States and the European Communities. To register via either party, please
click on the links below to be directed to the websites of the United States
or the European Communities. The general public to whom seats have been
allocated will need to present valid identification (passport) on-site to
access the meeting room. Please note that no audio/video recording or
photography by the public will be permitted in the meeting room. Members of
the public allocated a seat are requested to arrive in good time so as not
to disturb the meeting. Security checks may delay access to the gallery.
The WTO cannot offer any support, including financial, for accommodation,
flight arrangements and visas.
