Lao People’s Democratic Republic (1)

The Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s Working Party was established on 19 February 1998. The Memorandum on the Foreign Trade Regime was circulated in March 2001. Bilateral market access negotiations are underway on the basis of revised offer on goods and services. Multilateral work is proceeding on the basis of a revised Factual Summary of Points Raised circulated in June 2009. The fifth meeting of the Working Party was held in July 2009 to continue the examination of Lao PDR’s foreign trade regime.

Laos is officially the “Lao People’s Democratic Republic” or “Lao PDR”, but familiarly “Laos”.
