The 23rd Geneva Week for WTO Non-Resident Members and Observers will be held at the WTO from 12 to 14 December 2011, just prior to the WTO’s 8th Ministerial Conference (MC8). Geneva Week participants will meet with the WTO’s Director‑General and the Chairperson of the General Council to discuss preparations for MC8. There will also be a briefing on MC8 issues by representatives of the SVE and ACP groups. Other sessions included in the Geneva Week programme will focus on an analysis of developing country and LDC participation in the global trading system and on the interface between the WTO and regional trade agreements as featured in the WTO’s 2011 Annual Report. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend the different meetings convened by their regional groupings to coordinate their respective positions for MC8. The 23rd Geneva Week programme has been shortened to three days in order to allow participants to attend the proceedings of MC8 which will take place from 15 to 17 December 2011.
