WTO TRAINING COURSES
More
In opening the course, Mr Aik Hoe Lim, Director of the Trade and Environment Division, said: “This course aims to respond to the ever-growing demand for capacity building on TBT. We hope that the knowledge you gain in this course will be further disseminated when you return home to help strengthen the institutions responsible for TBT matters.”
The main objective of the course is to strengthen participants' knowledge and understanding of the key principles and measures covered by the TBT Agreement. The course comprises a series of sessions and practical exercises related to the provisions of the TBT Agreement and their implementation. It provides participants with the opportunity to attend a meeting of the TBT Committee to learn about its functioning and gives participants the opportunity to discuss their national experiences on implementation issues.
The course represents the highest level of “specialist” training within the WTO's progressive learning framework. The course programme features representatives of the WTO Secretariat as well as invited speakers from member governments and other organizations.
The course programme is available here.
