WTO’s contribution to attaining UN Sustainable Development Goals
2025 update to the High-Level Political Forum
This report examines the contribution of the WTO and the multilateral trading system to meeting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report focuses on five SDGs: SDG 3 ("Good Health and Well-Being”), SDG 5 ("Gender Equality”), SDG 8 ("Decent Work and Economic Growth”), SDG 14 ("Life Below Water”) and SDG 17 ("Partnerships for the Goals”). The report was submitted to the 2025 UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development.
The UN’s annual HLPF offers organizations the opportunity to review their progress toward meeting the SDGs.
