The Future of the Multilateral Trading System: Perspectives of LDCS and Article XII Members
The “Second China Round Table on WTO Accession for LDCs” will take place from 15 to 18 October 2013, in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. The theme is “the Future of the World Trading System: Perspectives of LDCs and Article XII Members”. This Round Table is sponsored by the Government of China, hosted by the Government of Lao PDR, and organized by the WTO Secretariat, as part of the agreed activities in the China/WTO MOU.1

1. In July 2011, the Government of the People’s Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the “China’s LDCs and Accessions Programme (“The China Programme”). This MOU was renewed for 2012-2013. The China Programme created a fund for an internship programme and an annual Round Table on Accessions to build capacity and technical skills in trade policy, including on accession negotiations, for Least-Developed Countries and non-LDCs. back to text
