Aid for Trade Global Review 2019:
“Supporting Economic Diversification and Empowerment”

Trade has been a catalyst for unparalleled progress in poverty reduction since the WTO came into being in 1995. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development commits us to continue this essential work and to eliminate extreme poverty.

It is against this background, and that of a challenging context for the multilateral trading system, that the Global Review will discuss how Aid for Trade supports economic diversification and empowerment. A particular focus will be placed on eliminating extreme poverty, particularly through the effective participation of micro, small and medium enterprises, women and youth.
