Background

One of the great challenges of our time is to reduce inequalities and making globalisation work for all. It is in this context that the multi-stakeholder partnership ‘the Global Deal for decent work and inclusive growth’ was launched. The partnership focuses on the potential of sound industrial relations and social dialogue as a means to contribute to decent work, quality jobs and increased productivity and by extension to greater equality and inclusive growth. As a part of the initiative there is an interest to further look at the trade aspects of the Global Deal. A discussion paper will be circulated ahead of the meeting as an input to the discussions.
