Stimuler les échanges, l'innovation et la connectivité numérique
Au cours de ces 20 dernières années, l'Accord sur les technologies de l'information (ATI) a élargi l'accès, dans le monde entier, aux produits de haute technologie tels que les ordinateurs, les téléphones mobiles et les semi-conducteurs. Pour marquer le vingtième anniversaire de l'ATI, cette publication analyse les effets de cet accord sur ses participants et sur le commerce mondial des produits des technologies de l'information, démontrant comment l'ATI n'a pas seulement rendu les produits de haute technologie plus abordables mais a aussi contribué à promouvoir l'innovation et à soutenir l'intégration des économies en développement dans les réseaux de production mondiaux.

Finalized at the first WTO Ministerial Conference in 1996, the ITA commits its participants to eliminate tariffs on a wide range of IT products with an annual value of approximately US$ 1.7 trillion. This publication reviews how the Agreement has evolved over the past two decades, including through the recent expansion of the ITA which eliminates tariffs on an additional 201 IT products valued at over $1.3 trillion per year.
The publication also highlights what still needs to be done to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of providing universal and affordable access to the Internet so that the benefits of the digital revolution can be enjoyed by all.
