TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

More

During the course, participants expanded their knowledge of best practice in data collection and data compilation in services sectors and shared information on the challenges they face in their home countries. They also learned about trade negotiators' data needs, particularly regarding statistics on the four modes of supplying services as defined in the WTO's General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). In addition, participants received training on areas such as measuring services in value-added terms (TiVA), digital trade, services enabled by information and communication technology, creative services and on the GATS in general.

The course also allowed participants to improve their skills in compiling data through exercises requiring use of the WTO Data Portal. The course benefited from guidance provided by experts from the central banks of France and Italy, the United Nations Conference  on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Trade Centre (ITC), UNSD and the WTO.
