Proposed Agenda

The Proposed Agenda can be found in document WT/GC/W/714 and contains the following items:

1. Report by the Chairman of the Trade Negotiations Committee

The Director-General will report, in his capacity as Chairman of the TNC, on activities in this area since his last report to the Council in December 2015.

2. Implementation of the Bali and Nairobi Outcomes — Statement by the Chairman

The General Council Chairman will provide an update on the implementation work concerning the Bali and Nairobi Decisions in the respective Councils and Committees.

3. Work Programme on Small Economies — Report by the Chairman of the Dedicated Session of the Committee on Trade and Development

The Chairperson of the CTD will provide a report on the progress in the Work Programme on Small Economies.

4. Aid for Trade Work Programme 2016-2017 — Statement by the Chairman on Trade and Development

Under this Agenda item, the Council will hear a report by the Chairperson of the Committee on Trade and Development on this matter.

5. Trade Restrictions by the Russian Federation — Communication from Ukraine

This item is on the agenda at the request of Ukraine, including its communication to the Goods Council in document G/C/W/720.

6. Fostering Participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Regional and Global Markets — Statement by the Philippines

At the November 2015 meeting, the General Council noted that it would revert to the consideration of the matter. On 10 February, the Philippines informed the Secretariat of its intention to include the item on the agenda.

7. Appointment of Officers to WTO Bodies

The Council is expected to take note of the consensus on the slate of names for Chairpersons of WTO bodies in Groups 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the Annex to the Guidelines for the Appointment of Officers to WTO Bodies (WT/L/510).

8. Election of Chairperson

The Council will elect its Chairperson for 2016.
