TRTA: TRADE-RELATED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, CONFERENCE, GENEVA, 21 JUNE 2011

WTO Chairs Annual Conference

The WTO Chairs Programme (WCP) was launched in January 2010 with the establishment of fourteen WTO Chairs in universities in developing and transition countries. Through this programme, the WTO seeks to enhance knowledge and understanding of the trading system among academics, citizens and policy makers in developing countries by stimulating teaching, research and public debate on international trade and trade cooperation at the level of tertiary education and research institutions.

Following the Inaugural Conference of the WCP held on 25-26 May 2010, the Chairs have made progress in the implementation of their respective projects, including on issues of common interest identified at the first Conference. This year's annual meeting takes stock of the work undertaken by Chairs since the launching of the WCP.
