Mpho Phaloane is the Executive: Accreditation at the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS). He joined SANAS in 2003 as a Field Manager for Verification Laboratories, and later promoted to Senior manager looking after Accreditation Managers. Mpho Is a Mechanical Engineer, with a Masters Degree in Engineering.

 

Dr Andreas Steinhorst studied Chemistry at the Westfälischen Wilhelms-University Münster (Germany). Following seven years of study and research activities he graduated with a doctorate of natural sciences. As a result of his excellent performance, he received a scholarship from the Fund of the German Chemical Industry.

Mid-nineties he started his career in the field of accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. Andreas Steinhorst became the managing director of the German Accreditation body of Chemistry (DACH). He led DACH to a recognized accreditation body and signatory of the EA-MLA and ILAC-MRA.

After the restructuring of the German accreditation system towards a single national accreditation body per member state according to Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, he became the first head of central services and then managing director of the new established German Accreditation body DAkkS.

After almost 20 years work for an accreditation body he was appointed in 2014 as the Executive Secretary of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), the European association of National Accreditation Bodies.

Since 4 November 2021 he has been the President of IAF, International Accreditation Forum, and since 2022 he has been the Chair of International Network on Quality Infrastructure (INetQI). Since 2015 he has been a member of the Executive Board of EA, European Accreditation. Since 2013 Director of the Certification and Inspection Department of Accredia, for which he also holds the role of Deputy General Manager with responsibility for international activities. He is Vice President of the UNI “Conformity Assessment” Commission (CT 52) and he was active at the ISO CASCO tables for the revision of the ISO / IEC 17011 and 17021-1 standards.

Gillian has spent a significant amount of her career building and sustaining food safety and quality programs. Originally from Ireland, she has lived and worked in Ireland, the UK, France, and the US. Gillian’s global perspective comes from driving change in multiple countries and sectors (manufacturing, food service, retail, distribution) with leading companies such as Häagen Dazs, Burger King, Express Foods, Pillsbury and Wegmans Food Markets. In addition, she has led development of food safety and quality programs for many large and small private label suppliers and distributors.

Gillian possesses a Bachelor of Food Science (Dairy) degree from University College Cork, Ireland. She has participated in extensive training and education programs at a practical, business, scientific and executive leadership level.

Gillian has long-standing relationships with the Food Marketing Institute’s Food Protection Committee, Board of Directors of the American National Standards Institute, and the Global Food Safety Initiative (past co-vice chair and board member). Gillian serves on the Board of Directors for Stop Foodborne Illness, the Educational Advisory Board for Food Safety Magazine and is a long-standing member of Harvard’s Private and Public Scientific, Academic and Consumer Food Policy Committee (PAPSAC).

Paul Moliski is the Global Vice President of Accreditation in the Electrical Business Line for Intertek. His responsibilities include managing and developing corporate accreditations. Mr. Moliski is also responsible for the strategic development of the Electrical Business Line in Latin America.

Mr. Moliski represents Intertek on several committees including the Co-Vice Chair of the USNC/IECEE, member of IECEE PSC 1 Strategy and working group 24 (Infringements), the U.S. National Committee to the IEC, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), TIC Council, the Canadian Advisory Council on Electrical Safety and Chair of the IAS Technical Advisory Committee on Product Certification. Previously, Paul was chair of IECEE working group 5 (Components), technical expert on ISO/CASCO Working Groups 29, 31, 32 and 42, ANSI Executive Standards Council, and ANSI Accreditation Committee Chair. Mr. Moliski is currently a member of the ANSI Board of Directors. In 1987, Mr. Moliski joined ETL Testing Laboratories (now Intertek) and held several positions in Marketing, the Fire Testing Division and as Accreditation Manager. Prior to that he was an Account Executive with MCI Telecommunications Corporation. Paul was recently awarded the ANSI Gerald H. Ritterbusch Conformity Assessment Medal and the IEC 1906 Award established in commemoration of the foundation of the IEC and honors technical experts around the world whose work is fundamental to the IEC.

During his time with Intertek Mr. Moliski was critical in the development and acceptance of the ETL Product Certification Program. The ETL Product Certification Program quickly grew to become the second largest certification program of its kind in North America and is now a global organization consisting of over 10,000 listed companies. Paul has since opened certification bodies in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Mr. Moliski consistently works cross divisionally to support the development of accreditations and new business opportunities. This includes providing strategic input to the Legal and Marketing operations of Intertek.

Mr. Moliski resides in upstate New York and works in the Cortland, NY facility. He is a graduate of State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing and he has completed the UCLA Executive Program.

Mr. Raharjo currently serves as Director of Accreditation System and Harmonization at the National Standardization Agency - Indonesia. He carries out secretarial activities of KAN whose responsibilities are in the development, maintenance, and evaluation of the implementation of the accreditation scheme as well as the fulfillment of international obligations in the field of accreditation. Prior to taking this position, Mr. Raharjo was formerly the Manager of Accreditation for Product, Process and Service Certification Agencies with the main role of implementing and programming accreditation activities for product, process and service certification bodies

Hélio Silva Filho is a Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the WTO in Geneva. He is in charge of the TBT, SPS, Government Procurement and CRTA files. This is his second round in Geneva as a WTO delegate of Brazil, first one being during the 2008-2011 period. He also worked with economic affairs in the Brazilian Embassies in Mexico City and Asuncíon. He has a master degree in Economics from University of São Paulo, Brazil. He has been a career diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brazil since 2004.

Lana Marashdeh, M.SC. in Chemical Engineering, is the Director of the Jordan Accreditation System (JAS-AU) with over 19 years’ experience in accreditation. During her lead of the Jordanian National Accreditation Body (JAS-AU), international recognition from Arab Accreditation Cooperation (ARAC) and the international Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) was achieved. Being dedicated to improving accreditation regionally, she has become the Chair of the ARAC Multi-Lateral Arrangement Committee since 2018, and the Chair of Accreditation Council at the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries since 2019. In addition to being a member of several international accreditation committees (e.g. the IAF/ILAC Joint Work Group for frequently asked questions, IAF/ILAC Joint Management Committee, ILAC Arrangement Management Committee), and an ILAC and ARAC peer evaluator. Lana believes that accreditation not only contributes to the enhancement of global trade, but also to living a better life.

Elisabeth George has a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and MS in Engineering Management from Northeastern University. She has worked in Medical Device Regulatory for more than 25 years. Her career began as a biomedical engineering in Boston Children’s Hospital and then as a design engineer in Control Systems Engineering for Power Plants. She then held a number of positions in design, operations, quality & regulatory with companies such as Haemonetics, Millipore and Hewlett-Packard Medical. Today, Elisabeth works for Philips managing and supporting the global standards and regulations work for more than 50 design & manufacturing facilities around the world. She and her team support development, awareness and deployment throughout the lifecycle of products and processes for medical devices and consumer products (from MRI, X-Ray and Defibrillators to Sonicare Toothbrushes and Humidifiers). She is actively engaged in trade associations and standards development organizations including: ANSI, AAMI, AdvaMed, MITA/NEMA, DITTA & GMTA. She actively represents Philips and Industry as a whole in technical activities including Human Factors, Usability, Digital Health and Cybersecurity. She also participates is the US National Committee – Council, CAPCC & IECEE. She has presented at industry forums and to government and regulatory agencies around the world including in China, Brazil, India, Europe, Japan and Korea. She presently holds leadership positions in various trade associations and is presently a member of the Board of Directors for AAMI and ANSI and sits as an industry representative on the FDA's Patient Advisory Committee.

Reinaldo Figueiredo, Co-Interim Executive Director, ANSI National Accreditation Board Chair of the ISO Committee on Conformity assessment (CASCO) Mr. Reinaldo B. Figueiredo has extensive leadership experience in the design and implementation of accreditation programs and conformity assessment schemes in accordance with key international standards (e.g., ISO). From the outset, Mr. Figueiredo has served as a consistent contributor to international standards activities. He participated in the creation of international and regional cooperation organizations related to accreditation activities such as IAF, IAAC, PAC, and ILAC. As a member of ISO/CASCO Working Groups 29, 45 and 52, he participated in the development of the new ISO/IEC 17065 and the ISO/IEC 17011 standards. Mr. Figueiredo is a current member of the PAC Executive Committee and the GFSI Working group on the revision of the Guidance document and Auditor competences.

At ANAB, Mr. Figueiredo is responsible for coordinating and supporting ANAB implementation of MOUs with Government agencies (e.g., US EPA ENERGY STAR) and private sector owners (SQF, EFI, ASMI) as well as MRAs with international and regional entities. He especially enjoys forging new partnerships in order to share the advantages and value that conformity assessment offers. At ANAB, he has implemented and managed accreditation programs that include on the one hand, program activities of 3rd party-accredited product/process/services certification bodies and on the other hand, scheme-specific programs (e.g., formaldehyde, forestry, food safety, health information technology, telecommunications, water quality, FDA - FSMA). Reinaldo Figueiredo holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University Vale do Rio Doce, Minas Gerais in Brazil and has specialized in Economic Engineering from the University of Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil.

Stacy Cho is a senior policy analyst with the Standards and Conformity Assessment Program (S-CAP) at the Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Stacy received her B.S. in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and received her M.A. in Psychological and Brain Sciences with a focus on fMRI studies from Johns Hopkins University. Stacy started her career at FDA in 2013 after spending several years as a neurophysiologist with hospitals in the DC metro area. At FDA, she served as a lead reviewer for radiological devices with premarket, compliance, and postmarket submissions; and she also led the Third Party 510(k) Premarket Program. Currently, she is the Accreditation Body Lead for the Accreditation Scheme for Conformity Assessment (ASCA) Pilot program after spending several years establishing the program.

Mr. FEI Yang is the Director of International Cooperation Division of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). He is experienced in accreditation of certification bodies, standardization on conformity assessment and international cooperation of accreditation bodies. He had been the member of IAF MLA Management Committee from 2014-2020, the Chair of Technical Committee of Pacific Accreditation Cooperation from 2013-2019, and the co-convener of ISO/CASCO/WG 35 on Competence of QMS Auditing and Certification from 2012-2013.
