Building on the momentum of the positive work already undertaken under each of the three initiatives to position trade as part of the solution for environmental challenges, this joint event recognizes the important achievements supported by a large diversity of WTO members and provides an opportunity to publicly launch the ministerial statements.

The event opens with a keynote address by WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. This is followed by the launch of the ministerial statements, with trade ministers representing each initiative providing remarks. The next section is devoted to statements from stakeholders, including heads of various intergovernmental organizations as well as non-governmental organizations and business organisations. Deputy Director‑General Jean‑Marie Paugam provides the closing remarks.
